How to Shade Every Other Row in Microsoft Excel

It gives a quite natural, smooth and professional look. It can be done using the built-in tools of Ms. Excel.
Step 1: Open Blank Excel workbook:
Step 2: Highlight the particular area:
All you need to do is to highlight the area, which you want to shade. Try highlighting the columns as shown below.
Step 3: Click Conditional Formatting:
Just head to Home tab and then click Conditional formatting for viewing different options for shading.
Step 4: Select the New Rule:
Step 5: In the Format Style drop-down, choose Classic. <classic.png>:
Step 6: Select Use a formula to determine which cells to format:
Step 7: Enter Formula:
After selecting the Use a Formula option in the above step, just try entering the following formula into the appropriate area: =MOD(ROW(),2)=1
Step 8: Tap Format:
Step 9: Go To Fill tab and select the desired color:
Step 10: Click OK:
Step 11: Click OK once more to apply the formatting:
