Following the release of its imperceptibly crazy rounded Predator 21X, Acer has released another best gaming laptop for influencing its users.
The Predator Triton is currently giving tough competitions to its rival model of companies like Razer, MSI, and Asus for becoming one of best gaming laptops.
Gaming is one of the emerging and popular PC market sectors having much influence in the PC market. According to the company, the growth is increasing 64% for its Predator range year-on-year.
Beside the exclaim of Predator Helios 300 and X27 monitor, the Triton700 was the model that assuredly attracts users towards it because of some good functionality.
Predator Triton700 might be affordable as compared to 21X but it is not dense and Triton is that kind of laptop which requires a thickset piggy bank to afford it.
Predator Triton 700 will be available in August across Europe and starting price will be €3,339 ($3652.37).
Design And Build
Predator Triton700 design is much similar to the design of 21X having a similar dark gray aluminum chassis, which feels and looks great.
However, the most interesting the introduction of Gorilla glass above the Keyboard, which means that the users can be able to see the internals of laptop including the AeroBlade 3D fan and five heat pipes.
It looks pretty nice and redolent of the endowed sides to gaming desktops. However, the glass can also be used a touchpad. Admitting that it is very hard but you will need time to get used to it as you can only tap it because it is unclickable.
However, it is very comical to look at and to use. Its style of functionality looks very good also. As most of the users use a mouse for gaming but there exists a bigger issue than the trackpad.
The keyboard is actually plane to the front edge of the laptop which indicates that the users will not have space for palm rest.
Due to this, users will have to place their palm on the desk next to laptop which is not optimal in terms of ergonomics and comfort. We can expect that the company will add the wrist rest to the laptops.
The keys are backlit, although the keyboard is automated as it is having an odd action due to the small distance between the keyboards. Most of the users like it and it takes a time to used to it.
Predator Triton700 is just 18.9mm which is similar to weight its rival models Razer Blade and the MSI Stealth Pro which are 18mm and weighs almost 2.6kg.
Specs And Hardware
As you had expected from the laptop of such price, the company has elected the latest 7th-generation Intel processors for providing the functionality of Corei3-7300HQ or optionally a core i7-7700HQ.
These come with interspersed graphics but that is somewhat near the functionality of the gaming laptop. There is also a Nvidia GeForce GTX 10-series graphics inside it but the company is yet to clarify which of the cards you need to use.
However, the user expects that it might be at least in 1060 considering that the latest Predator Helios 300 maxed out at 1060. The previous model was having GTX 1080 but at the starting price, it might not be available.
Other specs include a 16GB DDR4 memory which can be upgraded to 32GB if we connect two DIMM modules. The laptop is also featuring a 512GB SSD utilizing PCIe and two drives are fixed in Raid 0.
All this indicates that the laptop is having good overall performance. The laptop scores almost 17000 points in 3DMark and in benchmark the laptop scores round about 3600 pts.
However, the higher end Nvidia 10-series GPUs can support a 4K video, the laptop is featuring a 15.6in IPS screen that is having a Full HD resolution(1920×1080).
The laptop is having a good and decent look but few users may be disappointed for not getting higher resolution for this price.
The laptop is also having an HD webcam along with Killer Wireless 2×2 11ac accompanied with two USB 3.0ports comprises of USB charging, one USB 2.0 port, an HDMI 2.0 port, a DisplayPort Thunderbolt 3 connector and a Gigabit Ethernet port.
The Predator Triton 700 is a vigorously impressive gaming laptop. However, the Window’s trackpad might appear cool and bizarre but it is not ergonomic. Then there is a chunky price tag to confront with.
