Price & Availability
The starting price of Acer Chromebook 15 is $349, it is not as cheap as we had expected that it would be.
The main difference between Chromebook 15 and Chromebook spin 15 is that spin 15 features a touchscreen, as well as its hinges, allow it to bent 360 degrees just like a convertible laptop.
Moreover, the company has also introduced a touch screen model (CB315-1HT), the company is yet to release its price tag.
The non-touch screen methods also run Android apps but without a touch screen, it doesn’t make sense to use Android apps.
Design and build
At this price, you won’t be able to get an extraordinary build quality even if you fond of buying Chromebook.
There is a little bit flexibility in the lid and overall impression is far cry from the latest thin-bezel laptops, which can cost you more than $1000 dollars.
Actually, it seems to be an upgrade from plastic to aluminum deck and lid as well. The bottom surface of the laptops is constituting a soft touch metal instead of metal.
It is to be noted that the usability gets embarrassed by the fact that when you open lid the base lifts upward.
The feeling of cheapness is increased with the lid open as wide bezels have been fixed around the screen as well as the keyboard.
At one side of the keyboard, there are two speaker grilles and these stereo speakers provide good and a loud sound.
Chromebook speakers are simpler as compared to all other laptops available in the market. However, these keyboards will not provide you a crisp, firm action.
Again, the touchpad is not a glass, but it will work fine as long as you use it for basic cursor movement instead of a whole load of gestures like in high-end laptops.
The Chromebook 15 weighs around 1.8 kg, it might be heavier than many other Windows laptops of the same price.
According to the company, these laptops can last up to 14 hours, which is a much-needed thing in various budget laptops.
Hardware and connectivity
The most noticeable thing in hardware of Chromebook 15 is the addition of USB-C port on either side. The company has added USB 3 port on both sides as well as useful microSD card slot and standard headphone jack on the left side.
Acer Chromebook is featuring a quad-core Intel premium N4200 processor or the older dual-core Intel Celeron N3350 / quad-core Intel Celeron N3450.
The N4200 is not a lot faster than the N3450, therefore, you definitely need a quad-core chip for having a decent performance.

Moreover, you will have the choice of 8GB of RAM, which is very handy as it will help you in opening more than 20 tabs in Chrome browser.
Android apps on Chrome OS does not provide a natural feeling of being integrated and also feel much infancy.
Obviously, not every android app require a touch screen, you can use Facebook Messenger or Twitter perfectly and happily on all non-touch models.
As like the Chromebook spin 15, the Acer Chromebook 15 is featuring a screen with a 1920×1080 resolution, which gives a sharp view.
But, it’s not a brightest and even it does not affect your eyes with saturated colors.
The shining finish may not be so attractive because of the lack of brightness which means reflection will be somewhere there.
The Acer Chromebook 15 is featuring a 32 GB or 64GB of eMMC storage and 802.11ac Wi-Fi.
